Many buyers end up buying
exactly the opposite of what they had originally thought they wanted. When
buying, are you open minded?
As a Real Estate agent I always
conduct an initial consultation with a prospect buyer to understand his/her
priorities. That first meeting helps me to understand the client’s price range,
needs and wants; this provides me with a guideline to find the right property. I
also know that those parameters can and often change.
I have had families who said there was absolutely no way they would buy a “split
entry” home and Guess what, they ended up buying a split entry home. They also have
stated that they did not want an older home but actually purchased a remodeled older
home. One couple stated they would only consider a home in Seattle but ended up
buying in Everett. Some would only want hardwood floors but bought a home with carpet;
later they installed their own hardwood.
Buying a home is a process, it takes an initial plan but it also takes an open mind to consider possibilities that may actually benefit you in ways you may not have even considered.
So, when buying a home, do yourself a favor and try to keep an open mind. It’s OK to change your mind during the home buying process. Remember the ultimate goal is your 100% satisfaction.
